Mid December 2024 saw the conenction of a 192 panel solar farm adjacent to the wind turbine site at Castle Hill. This is relatively small, at 132.05kWp, but is contratined by the limited grid connection, which it shares with the turbine. There may be scope in 2028 to updrage the system.

The farm was installed by Absolute Solar and Wind Ltd and funded by the Scottish Government as part of the Carbon Neutral Islands Project.
